What about variable bit selects within arrayed structures?

for(i=0;i<31;i = i + 1)
  if (memory[address][i])
    begin
    end

be most helpful since there are normally situations were you would like
to examine something based on a variable

memory[address][be*8+7:be*8] = new_byte;
