Subject: BTF - BE28 - transition_pair vs. edge_descriptor
Behavioral Task Force - Errata Submission
Assigned Enhancement Request Number: BE28
Errata Name (Description): transition_pair vs. edge_descriptor
Section: 14.5.9
Date Submitted: 970701
Requestor: Paul Graham
Status: Submitted (priority not yet assigned)
Errors found in the Verilog LRM (IEEE 1364-1995).
Details:
The syntax box says
edge_control_specifier ::= edge [ transition_pair { , transition_pair } ]
transition_pair ::= 01 | 0x | 10 | 1x | x0 | x1
Yet Annex A says
edge_control_specifier ::= edge [ edge_descriptor { , edge_descriptor } ]
edge_descriptor ::= 01 | 0x | 10 | 1x | x0 | x1
While the two syntaxes are equivalent, what is the point of changing the
non-terminal name from "transition_pair" to "edge_descriptor"?
