I think Shalom is asking about this because of a coding policy...
I do agree that people include the range on vectors. But I don't understand the
reasoning of emphasizing the width. Respecifying the range at first seems to indicate a
width different than the declared.
I guess you're asking for an exception to the part-select rule for when the part selection is
identical to the declared width. But realize that if you make a mistake (modify the declaration of the signal to a larger or smaller vector and don't alter every
reference to the signal width; mistype the width; etc.) you would lose the signed
attribute. This might be worse than saying a part-select is unsigned.
