Behavioral Task Force - Errata Submission
Assigned Errata Number: BE24
Errata Name (Description): multiple defparams not mentioned
Section: 12.2 page 139
Date Submitted: 961213
Requestor: Mitch Perilstein
Status: Proposal
Analyzed by: Anders Nordstrom / Mike McNamara
Errors found in the Verilog LRM (IEEE 1364-1995).
Details:
The lrm neither allows nor disallows multiple defparams of a single
parameter value. [XL: last defparam encountered in source text wins.]
Proposal:
Add the following paragraph before the last paragraph on page 139:
"In the case of multiple defparams for a single parameter, the parameter
takes the value of the last defparam statement encountered in the
source text. When defparams are encountered in source files found by
library searching, the defparam from which the parameter takes it's value
is undefined."
