Thanks for the proposal. You proposal has this equivalent (from the
old proposal)

        reg [7:0] blue;
        reg [0:7] green;

  blue[start::length] == blue[start:start-length]
  green[start::length] == green[start:start+length]
  
Who will ask for a method for [end::length]?

Who thinks this looks too much like perl's object oriented features?
