After a discussion with the Synthesis Subcommittee, and in an effort to
standardize on a method of specifying synthesis pragmas without resorting
to using comments, I submit the attached proposal for using "attributes" in
Verilog. If there are any questions about the proposal, please let me know.

Thanks,
-Tom

Hi All,

Please find the pdf file attached. This new proposal does not contain
"views". It also does not define the command-line options that we discussed
on the last conference call. It does, however, define that there must be a
command-line way of specifying both the library mapping file(s) and a
command-line way of overriding the default library searching order. This
seemed to me the best compromise in light of Maq's issue about
standardizing command-line options as part of the language.

If anyone feels strongly about this, we can put it back in, but I think the
current proposal is sufficient.

Thanks,
-Tom

I was stuck on the East Coast and couldn't attend the telecon for the 3/1
meeting on configurations, and I haven't seen anything mailed out since
that meeting? What was the outcome from that meeting and is there anything
new to comment on?

Thanks,

James Markevitch
