In the list of errata that I e-mailed to 1364-core this morning about the
usage of "reg", "register" and "variable",
I tried to make explicit recommendations on what to fix. There are
several updates to the BNF, however, that I am not sure what to
change. Here is an excerpt from the list. Please make sure
Joe gets the updates needed.
Keep in mind that the objective is to eliminate the confusing
"register" term in the LRM, and consistently refer to these
data types as either "variables", to indicate the entire class,
or "reg" to refer to just that specific data type.

</font>The term "register" is used in numerous places, e.g.:
"register_identifier",
"list_of_register_identifiers",
"list_of_block_register_identifiers",
"block_register_type". Probably, "variable" can
be used instead of "register", but I am not a BNF expert, and
cannot propose the exact changes that need to be made.
Other BNF terms that appear to refer to any variable type are:
"hierarchical_reg_identifier", "reg_assignment",
"reg_lvalue", "output_reg_type",
"list_of_reg_port_identifiers",
"block_reg_declaration", and in the upward_name_reference
definition, "reg_identifier".
The term "notify_register" should be
"notify_reg".
The changes made also will affect the following excerpts from Annex A:
