Cliff,

Perhaps you or one of the verilog experts can clarify an implementation
detail.

The new rules for functions and tasks say that a function or task may
contain localparam declarations as well as parameter declarations. As far
as I can tell, a parameter in a function or task is equivalent to a
localparam in a function or task. Is there any difference that you know of?

I'm asking because it will simplify some implementation details if I treat
localparams and parameters in a function or task identically.

I'm aware that localparams and parameters are distict at the module level.

Paul
