To all BTF Reflector Readers -
The Task Force Leaders have been given a pre-release PDF version of the
1364-2001 Standard (Draft 7??) and we cannot distribute them to the Task
Force members. We have a few days to make recommendations for typo-only
changes. No clarifications to descriptions, no additional examples, no
re-writing small sections, TYPOs ONLY!
I am trying to wade through all of the BTF e-mail message of the past 8
months but the volume is incredible. I need your help to identify typos
that we might have a chance to fix in the final IEEE document.
The Task Force Leaders are going to prioritize and submit the small list of
changes to Maq & Yatin for them to present to the IEEE editors. If the list
is too long, the changes might not be implemented.
Example changes:
Global change:
REPLACE: on blocking
WITH: onblocking
Global change:
REPLACE: on-blocking
WITH: onblocking
*** Please send me e-mail messages with the subject line: DRAFT 6 TYPO ***
Please be brief in the change description. Please send one typo per e-mail.
I will verify that the typo does indeed still exist in Draft 7 and submit a
(page number or "Global") REPLACE:/WITH: change request.
The Task Force Leaders are going to have to make judgement calls about
which typos we can live with and which must be changed in the final
document. I know we would all like to augment or clarify specific topics in
the standard, but unfortunately that will not be permitted. (There comes a
time in the life of every product where you have got to shoot the engineer
and ship the product!)
