    You don't need to parameter - I used it to view/test the results.
    You should be able to say:

    generate for(i=0; i<=7; i = i + 1)...

    (* xc_rloc = {"R", i, "C0.S0"} *) foo bar(..port connections..)

    As an attribute accepts a constant expression. I don't have a way to read
    attributes from the PLI yet...

    I do see a usefulness in creating a string of multiple arguments.
