Question on $sformat - systemfunction or systemtask or both?

    Good evening;

    The subject asks the question. Is $sformat a systemfunction, or a systemtask?

    The last draft of 13642001 that I have shows this text for $sformat().

    $sformat(output_reg, format_string, list_of_arguments);
    length = $sformat(output_reg, format_string, list_of_arguments);

    This text from 17.2.3 shows both syntax's as legal. The prose after the example only
    discusses the call being a task.

    It appears that two vendors differ on what it is. What does the latest spec say?
    It appears that it should be both.
