(Revised) Minutes of August 12, 2002 IEEE 1364 WG & ETF

From: Stefen Boyd (stefen@boyd.com)
Date: Tue Aug 13 2002 - 09:23:48 PDT

Precedence: bulk

I've added a few of the action items that
didn't make it into the minutes and fixed a
typo in Anders' email.
Mac has promised to send out meeting reminders
every Friday before a meeting with the call-in
info (even though the numbers don't change).
Unlike these minutes, minutes for ETF meetings
that aren't combined with the working group
will only be sent to the etf reflector...

Regards,
   Stefen

Status of Action Items:

AI-1/Mac: Get Electronic Frame Source of IEEE Standard from IEEE.
Also get permission to share second edition PDF around
           committee.
Update: Done. Frame Source received. Mac will send Frame Source to
Slalom/Stuart.

AI-2/Mac: Obtain the services of an editor. Scope: 40 pages? More? Less?
   Update: No progress.

AI-3/Mac: Approach Lynn to serve as IEEE (1364?) Secretary.
Update: Mac to report back soon

AI-4/Cliff: Revisit how his PDF was obtained
Update: See Cliff's email send to EFT reflector dated 8/12/02 with
subject: Fwd: Complimentary Copy: IEEE Std 1364-2001

AI-5/Mac: Contact Andy Ickowicz and ask why Cliff's PDF is not being
         distributed by IEEE.

AI-6/Cliff: Send ETF members copy of his "golden" PDF pending receipt
of permission to do so from Andy Ickowicz.

AI-7/Shalom: Investigate IEEE rules regarding the timeframe for balloting
         corrigendum.

AI-8/Shalom, Stu: Create comparison documents showing change bars between
         1995 an 2001 standards.

AI-9/Shalom: Enter all issues into database that were part of Cliff's
requested errata fixes, but are not yet in database.

AI-10/Stu: Enter PLI issues into database.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Errata List Discussion:

* Errata items in database marked with class "doc-bug" have not been
updated with information requested in last meeting. If not already
done, please forward the information requested of you regarding the
4-5 errata items assigned to you in the last meeting ASAP.

* Discussion of Errata Item #3:
   - Much discussion regarding handling of system tasks in constant
     functions.
   - Reclassify item as a "errata-discuss".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Proposal by Karen:

Going forward, propose we meet every 2 weeks alternating between a
combined 1364/ETF meeting, and a dedicated ETF meeting. The next
meeting would be a dedicated ETF meeting, and the following a combined
1364/ETF meeting. Only combined 1364/ETF meetings would be counted
towards attendance and voting rights.

Second: Steven

Result: Approved

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Proposal by Mac:

Request that the IEEE continue distributing the current (1st edition)
version of IEEE 1364-2001 for now, but to discontinue printing new
copies of it. When errata process is completed, publish the errata
and begin making available the 2nd edition IEEE 1364-2001. Post some
kind of notice that there are issues with the 1st edition and that
a 2nd edition, and errata document, are forthcoming.

Second: Cliff

Result: Approved (with much wining)
