    As is well known, good old VCD, because it is ASCII-based, creates very large
    files, even when compressed.

    I propose we define or, more likely, solicit invitations for, a new, additional
    format binary-based which will be standard,
    instead of the multitude of incompatible standards currently existing.

    This is the time, as the current formats need to be extended anyway in order to
    support extensions such as SystemVerilog.
