    A few of other 'operations' to consider:

    hierarchical references
    specify blocks and timing checks
    sdf
    ports
    vcd
    declarations in automatic scopes
    display tasks
    input from file
    conversion functions

    There are no doubt others, but this is a quick list which comes mostly
    from scanning the lrm chapter headings.
